Kisumu Port Ppp Project

Runji & Partners in association with M/s Maritime & Transport Business Solutions B.V of Rotterdam, Netherlands, is providing Transaction Advisory Services for the Development of Kisumu Port on PPP basis. The project, funded by the World Bank, entails development of Kisumu Port into a modern Sh22.5 billion commercial Lake Port to serve the growing trade in the EAC region on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) basis.
Runji & Partners assignment is to undertake tasks in; Technical Due Diligence, Environmental Sustainability and Safeguards                                             .
The Technical Due Diligence analyses the operational efficiency and appropriateness of various location options as well as technological, port layout and design options vis-à-vis the projected traffic demand and other parameters influencing the financial and operational viability of the PPP transaction for the development, operation and maintenance of the Port                                     .
The Environmental Sustainability and Social Safeguards Experts will identify, assess and quantify the specific environmental and social risks and impacts associated with the Port. They will ensure all environmental and social aspects of the project comply with Kenyan laws and regulations as well as World Bank Directives.
